Strategic Dialogue with Canada

In Ottawa The first strategic consultations between the democratic forces of Belarus and the government took place Canada.

The important international event brought together key representatives of both sidesincluding the organization of BELPOL. The format of these consultations resembles the already established Strategic Dialogue with the United States.

The main topics of discussion are:
🔹 Politics, security and the issue of political prisoners.
🔹 Democratization and support for independent Belarusian media.
🔹 Holding the Lukashenko regime accountable for crimes against humanity.
🔹 Failure to recognize "no-election-2025".

The interests of the Belarusian side were represented by Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and her Office, representative of the Joint Transition Cabinet. Vladimir Ostapenkorepresentatives NAU, BELPOL and journalists of independent Belarusian media.

From the side Canada The strategic consultations included: government officials, Foreign Ministry officials, and directors of relevant departments dealing with sanctions and international justice.

representatives BELPOL emphasized the Canadian government's attention to the involvement of the Lukashenka regime in the war against Ukraine, and stressed the importance of further strengthening sanctions pressure on official Minsk. The consultations focused on concrete measures to improve and enhance the effectiveness of the sanctions mechanisms.

This dialog was a significant step in strengthening international support for Belarusian democratic forces and developing joint strategies to counter the authoritarian regime.
