Regime continues pressure on political prisoners
BELPOL, from our sources in Belarus, has received up-to-date information about the situation in Novopolotsk penal colony No. 1. And this information is very disturbing.
Victor Babariko is still isolated from the other prisoners and is kept alone in the cell-type facility (CCF) of penal colony No. 1, has health problems - heart malfunctions.
Regarding the circumstances of his beating, which resulted in on the night of April 25, 2023. he was admitted to hospital, we have learned the following. Serious bodily injuries were inflicted on Viktor Babariko representatives of the regime's punitive structures, who are not members of the colony's staff and specially came to IK-1 for a "preventive conversation", which turned into a brutal act of intimidation.
Igor Losik is also still in the punishment center of IK-1. He, as well as Viktor Babarika, is kept in an "information vacuum", visits of lawyers and visits with relatives are prohibited for both political prisoners, and no correspondence is given to them.
It also became known how exactly Igor got to the CCP (cell-type premises). The colony administration organized its usual provocation against him - they tried to force him to clean the bathroom, which automatically entails the acquisition of a "low social status" for the prisoner. In protest Igor Losik cut his neck right in the squad bathroom.but he wasn't seriously injured. This is not the first suicide attempt on his part. As a punishment for "refusing to work" (i.e. cleaning the toilet), he was placed in PKT, but he is not held alone, but together with other prisoners, who monitor him.
Woodworking shop of IK-1 was switched to a 24-hour, 3-shift operation with 1 day off per week (previously it worked in 2 shifts). It produces wooden containers for artillery ammunition.
In July 2023. a prisoner hanged himself in industrial zone IK-1He was sentenced to a long term for murder, 12 years of which have already been served. This fact was not made public.
