As we previously reported, On June 24, the European Union adopted the 14th package of sanctions against individuals and organizations threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. The sanctions list included Belarusian Optical and Mechanical Association BelOMO OJSC is an enterprise of the military-industrial complex of Belarus.
As justification for the imposition of sanctions, the EU cites information previously reported in our the big "Gun Baron" investigation.which concerned the creation of a holding company "BelOMO" (which includes OAO Vavilov MMZ) of the drive contact device PVKU-210which is a key element in the production of PKP (of the commander's panoramic sight) for Russian armored vehicles.
According to Regulation (EU) 2024/1745 of June 24, 2024 on amending Regulation (EU) No. 833/2014 on restrictive measures in connection with Russia's actions destabilizing the situation in Ukraine, restrictive measures were also introduced against the gasket company Shenzhen 5G High-Tech Innovation Co., Limited.which was previously placed on the sanctions lists U.S. and Japan.
