From July 10 to 13, 2025, one of the main regime "shows" will take place - the so-called "International Festival of Arts "Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk". The event is indeed a "landmark" for the northern region of Belarus.
Visitors, especially "one-off" visitors financed by the union, envy Viteblians - "you guys have such a great festival.". But many "locals" have a slightly different opinion.
Traditionally, during the period of the "bazaar" Vitebsk moans from street closures, closed parking lots in the city center and night noise, and residents of the region try their best to fend off the "voluntary-coercive" visit (of course, for my own money.) the same concerts of the same performers that have been boring for more than 30 years.
For those who do not know - "stars" perform at the "bazaar" only under "plywood". This is an inviolable rule. But everyone is happy with it, especially the invited "celebrities" whose creative career ended 20-30 years ago.
Despite the total use of "administrative resources", the festival is chronically unprofitable. That's the way it's gonna be this time. BELPOL has a full accounting "Slavic Bazaar - 2025".
Its estimated costs will be in the order of RUB 7.5 millionand the planned revenue from ticket sales (RUB 3.8 million) will cover only half of this amount. The rest of the costs will be reimbursed at the expense of pre-appointed sponsors - the concerns Belneftekhim and Belgospischeprom, the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus and Promagroleasing. About RUB 1.5 million will be reimbursed from the budgets of the Republic of Belarus and the so-called "Union State".
Despite the losses, this unattractive "action" is repeated again and again. And all for the sake of showing off the main "artist of the spoken genre" - dictator Lukashenko, who likes to give away prizes and gifts, bought not at his expense. However, time will take its course anyway. We hope that the "music" will not have long to play.
