Lukashenko's recent statement about the possible involvement of a up to 150 thousand labor migrants from Pakistan caused a wide resonance in Belarusian society.
Such an initiative clearly demonstrates, as severe labor shortage The inability of the existing administrative model to cope with the internal demographic and personnel calls.
On the other hand, a sharp increase in the number of labor migrants from a state with a significantly different cultural, religious and social environment raises natural fears among the population, especially against the background of the deteriorating criminogenic situation inside Belarus. However, the list of potential problems does not end here.
Medical risks: opinion of the Ministry of Health
Internal documents in the possession of BELPOLThe Ministry of Health of Belarus has officially informed the Lukashenko administration of the risks and problems associated with the recruitment of migrant workers from Pakistan.
In particular, the so-called "Deputy Minister of Health - Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Belarus" Nechay S.V. sent an analytical note to the dictator's administration listing high epidemiological risks due to the planned mass entry of Pakistani citizens into our country.
According to the conclusion, there is a probability of importation of the following diseases into the territory of Belarus:
- polio;
- typhoid fever;
- measles;
- cholera;
- malaria;
- Dengue fever;
- Crime-Congo fever;
- Chikungunya fever.
As preventive measures, the Ministry of Health proposes mandatory laboratory tests and vaccination of migrants at the expense of the state budgetThis is stipulated under Lukashenko's Decree No. 202 of May 21, 2025, "On Increasing the Role of Employers in External Labor Migration".
Financial burden on the budget
According to calculations, medical examination and vaccination of one labor migrant will cost the budget in the amount of 460 Belarusian rubles. Thus, while attracting the stated number of migrants (150,000), total government expenditures will be 69 million Belarusian rubleswhich is equivalent to about 23 million dollars.
To this amount must be added 300 thousand Belarusian rubles for the procurement of measles vaccine in the Russian Federation.
That means that Belarusian taxpayers actually subsidize the entry of migrantsThese are potential risks to the health system, internal security and social stability.
BELPOL will continue to monitor the situation.
Long Live Belarus!
