Joint report by BELPOL and NAU is devoted to the militaristic indoctrination of children in Belarus - one of the key threats to the future of the country.
The study relies on data from open and closed sources and includes six sections that comprehensively reveal the extent and mechanisms of the regime's unprecedented impact on children.
The report demonstrates that by deploying a systemic militarization of childhood, the regime is pursuing two strategic goals:
firstly, To form a generation that is ready to sacrifice itself unquestioningly and thoughtlessly at the first request of the authorities;
secondly, It is important to ensure the reproduction of a loyal apparatus of violence that suppresses dissent and keeps the ruling clan in power.
The document details how the paramilitary education system is structured, covering children from the age of nine up to the period of higher education.
The evidence of the sources of funding for this system is presented, and the key actors and structures responsible for the formation of a «new generation of loyal soldiers of the regime» are outlined.
In addition, the report provides a legal assessment of what is happening from the point of view of international law, which allows us to consider the actions of the regime in the context of possible violations of international obligations of Belarus.
Long Live Belarus!
