BELPOL held a private briefing for representatives European External Action Service (EEAS) и European Commission. The event was timed to coincide with the publication of our investigation "The Gun Baron. Part Two.".
At the briefing, in addition to the data included in the published investigation, there was a classified information.
Specifically, the issues discussed included:
- the involvement of the Lukashenko regime in the war against Ukraine;
- processes of militarization of Belarusan economy;
- possible ways of circumventing sanctions restrictions;
- proposals to strengthen and improve sanctions pressure.
Hosting such events is key for our organization as part of our work on the 16th sanctions package of the European Union. Through these efforts, we seek to contribute to a tougher and more effective sanctions policy against the Lukashenko regime.
In addition, the EEAS representatives were given information about the persons involved in the rigging of the so-called 2025 elections.
This allows to emphasize personal responsibility, as well as to increase pressure on the key participants of repressive policy.
BELPOL re-emphasizes: We need sanctions not for the sake of sanctions, but for the sake of the overall result! And from our side our organization will make every effort in this direction.
Long Live Belarus!
